Truist
OVERVIEW
In 2019, BB&T and Sun Trust merged to form Truist, the 6th largest US Bank. With the merger, Truist launched a new commercial banking platform called Truist One View. I worked on projects for payments and entitlements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Research 🕵️♀️
Truist has a dedicated in house research team. While I did not facilitate any sessions with clients, I did work with research on the following:
Submitting research requests
I shared my design work for upcoming features with the research team to determine if we needed research such as discovery, usability, surveys, etc.
Participating in research sessions
I provided details on what we wanted to achieve to help our team write the research briefs and sat in on all client interviews for payments & entitlement related work.
Gathering other data
I worked with product partners to collect web analytics and attended presentations from 3rd party vendors on payment trends.
Product 🛣️
I was paired up with a product manager to help lead the product roadmap for payments.
Aligning the team on current capabilities
I hosted a series of sessions with the scrum team to capture current capabilities in our legacy platforms.
Documenting the roadmap for payments
I planned sessions to document the roadmap with the PM, and facilitated those sessions in Miro with the scrum team and stakeholders.
Refining epics and features
I voiced questions early and often during feature refinement, and set up analytics to measure success.
Design 🎨
In tandem with feature refinement, I would start with design deliverables to help provide the team with an understanding of the user needs.
Creating design artifacts
I worked with the broader team to create an overall experience map, along with user journeys, user types, and service blueprints for payments.
Documenting assumptions
I documented any major risks and assumptions made by design and product so that we could set up plans for testing and validation.
Delivering designs
I presented high fidelity wireframes to the scrum team, ADA, and content. I attended story feasibility and sprint demos to provide feedback throughout development.
Leadership 🗣️
As each scrum team only has one UX designer, it was my responsibility to take ownership for my portion of the user experience within payments and entitlements.
Presenting my work
I was responsible for voicing my input in larger team settings, along with presenting my work at cross functional collaborations.
Speaking up
Asking questions or raising concerns early (and escalating them as needed) if an epic or feature felt like they were not on the right track.
Providing feedback
I actively provided feedback to UX designers on other scrum teams on a weekly basis at our UX and EXD team syncs.
